San Marcos, Texas, August 22, 2005 – ResCare Premier proudly announces Three-Year Medical Rehabilitation: Brain Injury Program Accreditation awards to ResCare Premier’s programs in Sedalia, Missouri, St. Louis, Missouri and Downers Grove, Illinois. This represents the highest level of accreditation awarded by The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF). This marks the third three-year accreditation awarded to all three ResCare Premier programs by CARF, the nation’s accreditation authority in the fields of medical rehabilitation, behavioral health, and employment and community support services.

Kim Watkins, Executive Director of ResCare Premier’s Sedalia, Missouri program, observed, “In recent years I have seen new brain injury service providers electing not to become accredited at all, or established providers dropping accreditation for their residential rehabilitation and outpatient programs. We are committed to the accreditation process and firmly believe that working with CARF helps us to be a better program for our participants.”

According to the CARF survey report “RCP [ResCare Premier] has well-qualified staff members who clearly care and are committed to the mission of the organization. Staff members are dedicated to serving the needs of persons with brain injury.” The survey team also noted that “The TEAMS [Training Education And Mentoring System] training for rehabilitation educators or frontline staff is extremely comprehensive and thorough.”

Ruth Estes, Ph. D., Director of Training, Licensing and Accreditation stated, “We have fully integrated the CARF accreditation process into our best practices model of treatment and management.
