Premier announces the availability of three new informational videos
San Marcos, Texas, July
22, 2004 – ResCare Premier, a leading national provider of
programs and services for persons with acquired brain injury, today
announces the release of three informational videos in DVD format
or streaming on demand from the web at www.rescarepremier.com/services.html.
These videos highlight ResCare Premier’s Behavior Stabilization
services offered at the Tangram Behavioral Program, Complex Medical
services provided by Skilled Care Alternatives, and Pediatric Programs
offered at the Texas Hill Country School.
“ResCare
Premier and its sister companies, Skilled Care Alternatives and
the Texas Hill Country School, aggressively embrace a multi-media
approach to providing information to our customers and family members,”
states Ms. Cathy Breneman, Director of Business Development, “Video,
both on DVD and streaming from the web, is the next best thing to
a live tour. It allows our customers and family members to see our
people and programs and it gives them some insight into our caring,
commitment, compassion, and capability.”

ResCare
Premier’s Tangram Behavioral Program (“TBP”) has
been North America’s leading provider of behavioral stabilization
services for over twenty years. The Tangram Behavioral Program offers
emergency placement and transport, residential rehabilitation, transitional
services, and long-term supported living. According to A.B. Green,
Senior Program Director at ResCare Premier’s TBP, “Frequently
participants who are referred to our program are in crisis. They have
failed in other programs, been admitted to a locked psychiatric facility,
or been incarcerated. The video helps to explain that ResCare Premier’s
TBP does not have locked units, that we do not use restraints, and
that we do not have a “padded room”, but instead, we have
highly individualized treatment programs that help participants develop
positive, adaptive behaviors.”

“Many
times family members are not aware that long-term care for their
loved ones is available in the house just down the street,”
shares Krista Davis, Executive Director of Skilled Care Alternatives,
which has houses in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Downers Grove,
Illinois, and soon in Lockhart, Texas. “Medically complex
participants don’t necessarily have to be cared for in institutions
and our video gives us a great way to show families what is possible.”

According to Michael Langford, Dean of Students
at the Texas Hill Country School, “We have been using video
since we first opened our doors in September of 2000. Many times,
we deal with families with young children in crisis who have to
make a quick decision – admit their child to the Texas Hill
Country School or to a psychiatric facility. This is never an easy
decision and where time is of the essence, our video can be a stand-in
for a pre-admission tour of our school.”
Beth Hearne, Director of Admissions notes, “We
send these DVDs to families and case managers when they inquire
about our programs. They are a wonderful way to illustrate the services
we provide.”
ResCare Premier offers a full continuum of rehabilitation
services including Behavioral Stabilization, Residential Rehabilitation,
Comprehensive Day Treatment, Outpatient Services and various long-term
supported living environments. ResCare Premier is an in-network
provider for many national and regional health care insurance companies,
Workers’ Compensation insurers, numerous state and county
programs, private payments, and on a limited basis, will enter into
Security and Assignment of Proceeds Agreements.
Since opening
its doors, ResCare Premier has expanded and developed programs to
meet the diverse needs of individuals with acquired brain injury.
As a unique group of interrelated treatment facilities, residential
communities, and specialty programs located across the United States
and Canada, we offer a full continuum of rehabilitation and residential
services designed to meet treatment needs “from the door of
the hospital to the door of the home – or any door that opens
opportunity for our participants.” sm
